Here's the problem with your logic: When critiquing a religion, the judgement should be based off the founder/leader of said religion, and the example they set for their followers. So in this case, we're looking at Jesus Christ, and Muhammad. Christ preached love and compassion. Never has any Christian been commanded to murder someone they simply didn't agree with. Look at islam’s holy book. Seriously. Read it. You can beat around the bush all day long, but allah literally instructs them to strike off hands and heads. The Bible says to turn the other cheek. The quran says to 'cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers.' The Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself. The quran says that those who wage war with him will pay and 'should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned.'
The Bible says it’s the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. The word “love” appears in the quran 45 times, but only within the context of love of wealth, of other believers, or of Allah, but never in the context of loving strangers, or those not believing in Allah and his prophet.
In the Bible, the word “love” appears 155 times, mostly in the context of loving all mankind. And for those who want to argue about context...save it.
The Bible’s Old Testament has something called "historical context." The verses in the quran are open-ended, meaning 'strike off their heads,' and 'kill them wherever you find them' applies as much today as it did when it was written.
The fact is, Christianity is based on LOVE. Islam is based on hatred and division.
A 'Christian' who commits an act of hatred is condemned by their peers, because those acts are wrong, and rooted in sin and hatred.
A muslim who does these things is simply following the commandments and tennents (sp?) of their 'religion', and are praised by their peers.
