As cruel as it sounds, the evolution of every culture since the beginning of time has been through the conquest and assimilation of other cultures. There will never be perfection, because humans and human nature is imperfect. Remembering our history and learning from it, (the good and the bad) is what moves a civilization into the future. How many generations should be punished for things that they did not do? How far back do we go? 1 generation, 5 generations, 100 generations? How many future generations should continue to manifest the hate? What does it accomplish? What does it resolve? How does this heal, or move any culture into a peaceful future? When will we say ... enough!
